Long Island is a wonderful place to get married, especially when you consider the variety of venues it offers.
Whether you want a historical location or something contemporary and unique, you can find it on beautiful Long Island.
Having trouble finding a venue that’s unique enough to reflect you and your spouse-to-be?
Many beautiful wedding venues call Long Island home, but how many can transport you to medieval France?
Coindre Hall is a popular venue for this very reason. Its unique structure makes the building a must for a wedding that has more character than the typical Long Island ceremony.
The building is a French chateau, with an interior featuring spiral staircases, chandeliers, and elaborate courtyards. In addition to being an incredible sight, Coindre Hall has also earned its place on the National Register of Historic Places, giving it an even more impressive ring to its name.
NEW YORK HALL OF SCIENCE
The lights glinting off the oval-shaped Viscusi Gallery can add a modern look to your wedding and reception at this science museum. The space is versatile, however, and the white walls are yours to decorate to your taste. The room holds up to 300 people.
The museum has several options for the reception. The North Wing has 150 interactive exhibits to entertain guests after the ceremony, while the Central Pavilion offers an even larger space and 250 exhibits.
With all the interesting visuals surrounding both your wedding and reception, the ceremony will make a great impression on your guests. But more importantly, it will make the event one you and your spouse never forget.
STAMFORD MUSEUM AND NATURE CENTER
The Stamford Museum and Nature Center houses the former estate of Henri Bendel: 118 acres of gorgeous land and a mansion that offers space for dining, dancing and up to 150 guests.
There’s also a sunroom, solarium, Great Hall, arcade and front garden on the Bendel estate
You can also utilize the manicured lawns and meadows of the property for an outdoor reception, complete with tent rentals, picnic tables and staff members on hand to help you with your event from start to finish.
Not feeling the Gold Coast mansions, seaside resorts, or run-of-the-mill churches? Consider The Foundry. It has an industrial look that can add a historical edge to your wedding.
Built in the 19th century, the Foundry provided steel for various manufacturers throughout New York. The steel beams and brick walls make for unusual surroundings that will accent whatever decorations you choose. Better for smaller ceremonies, the venue can accommodate 200 people.
NASSAU COUNTY ART MUSEUM
This suburban art center provides a number of places where your guests can roam and enjoy the scenery. Plenty of sights will make your wedding memorable, including the museum itself, which is housed inside a Georgian mansion.
Guests can enjoy the meadows, ponds, and flowers that grow along the property, and the formal gardens provide a pretty backdrop for picture taking. Receptions are not allowed indoors, but your guests will be welcome to roam the museum interior and see all the different artwork inside.
